While on this weight lost journey I have tried many different things with hopes that they would help me lose weight. However, most of the trendy gimmicks just did not work for me. But one day I was watch tv and I heard that if you eat off of blue plates that you will eat less food. So, I went out and brought two blue small plates. I have noticed that when I eat off of the blue plate I feel fuller. I normally don’t want to go back for a second portion of food when I eat off of a blue plate. Research shows that eating off of blue plates, or bold colored plates, probably makes the portion looks larger which makes it stands out more than it does on a lighter plate, where it just blends in. And because the portions look larger your mind is tricked into thinking that you have more than you actually have; and thus you end up just eating less food.
During my research on eating off of blue plates, I also learned that the size and the color of the plate matters when it come to trying to eat less. The research showed that the color blue is like an appetite suppressant, so when people see their food on a blue plate (or eat blue colored food) the color will cause them to become less hungry and thus they will eat less food. Research also showed blue foods are s few in number and because of this fact people tend to eat less of foods that are blue.
Now, lets discuss diet pills. A lot of people think that these diet pills are magic pills and that they will magically make the fat in ones’ body just disappear overnight. You take a pill and zap…..the fat is got. This thinking is why sooooo many people go out and pay over-the-counter diet supplements. However, this thinking is not fully correct. Because the fat in ones’ body is not going to magically disappear overnight, and some of the diet supplements might not work at all.
So, here is some information that I found out during my research, as well as from my own experience with diet supplements. I found out that there are two types of weight loss drugs/pills, prescription and over-the-counter (I have tried them both). The whole reason behind weight lost drugs/pills is to help people eat less. Prescribed weight loss drugs are only prescribed to people that have a BMI of 30 or higher or if the person has a BMI of at least 27 and have a medical condition that may be related their weight. But just like every other prescribed medication there could be side effects that one will experience. So, of the side effects are (depending on which prescribed drug you are given) abdominal cramping, headaches, dizziness, nausea, fatigue, shortness of breath, chest pain, insomnia, or a raising blood pressure.
While I was on the prescribed weight lost drug I did in fact experience chest pain. The medication was working, but I had t decided if I wanted to lost weight or possible have a heart attack. So, I decided to stop taking the prescribe weight lost medication and to take a different route. Now, in comes the over-the-counter weight lost supplement. With this type of weight lost pill it can also be a hit or miss, but most of the time it was a miss. So, I decided to take the weight lost supplements for energy purposes only, and if I lost weight then that was great. And when I looked at the weight lost supplements as a form of energy, then I started to get my monies worth. I found that most of the weight lost supplement gave me extra energy, but when with continuous use I found that would have to increase the serving size or I would get a different weight lost supplement.
Well, that’s my experience with blue plates and diet pills. The one thing that I hope you took from my story is that everything does not work for everybody, and weight loss/diet trends are just that trends they never last. The only true fire way to lost weight and keep it off is proper nutrition and exercise. There is no magic pill or solution to lost weight. We did not gain the weight over night and we are not going to lost the weight over night. It is going to take some work. I will continue to use my blue plates and weight lost supplement, but I will also ensure that I eat properly and exercise on a regular basis. That my story, and I hope that you will share your own story. Until next time….. Life Is But A Journey….
