Hey guys… I know, long time no hear from and I know that you all have been waiting for my updates. Well, I have a lot to share with you all and I hope my journey will help you on your journey. So, as you probably can tell from the title, I went on a date with myself. I know a lot of people would say why would you want to go on a date by your self? And my response to that question is-if I can’t be alone with myself how can I except someone else to be with me?

Alone time is a good thing, and that was something that I learned in my early adult years, lol…. There are so many people in this world that believe that they need a man to complete them and once they find a man to share their life with then that is when their life will begin. And this is wrong think. Before you enter into any type of relationship you must be a whole person, and in order to become a whole person (know what you like and don’t, what makes you you) you have to spend time with you. Figure out what you like by doing different things alone. Then when you enter into the relationship you will know you and love you, and you will be able to love someone else.

Jesus is the only man that will truly complete you and sharing your life with him will begin your own life. Because 2000 something years ago when Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins-He died so we could live. So, once you find Jesus (God) your life is complete and it begins. But you really want be able to sense that you need Jesus unless you are able to be alone and quite (which can be very uncomfortable).

Before I started dating my now husband I had to become a whole person. I had to be strong, wise, loving, patient, and all the other qualities of a virtuous woman before I could be someone’s helpmate. Of course marriage will strengthen those qualities, but before you make it to the alter those qualities need to be present and formed. You don’t want to go into a relationship trying to form them while in the relationship, if you do you will find yourself looking for another relationship. So, I would take myself to dinner and a movie (without a book or something to keep me company) and I would just be with myself. At first it was very uncomfortable, but I would continue to push through that feeling of being uncomfortable and thinking that I looked out of place. And during my single time I learned to love and accept Jeanine for Jeanine.  I began to love my natural hair, my not so skinny body, the acne on my face, my one chipped tooth, all of my imperfections. And believe it or not once I began to see myself as begin beautiful I began to attract other people that also thought I was beautiful.

Now that I am a mother and a wife I started to forget who Jeanine was, and that was one thing that was hindering my growth and weight lost. So, I took myself on a date. And I did this just to remind myself of who I am, how beautiful I am, and that no matter what Jesus loves me and every where I go He goes so I am never alone. My date with myself gave me some much needed energy to continue to press forward on my journey.

As we all travel through life, there is one person that we should love and that is yourself. Because once you learn to love your self you will be able to give love to others. Remember that Life Is But A Journey…. Until next time.
