Sacrifice: Why Letting Go Is Often the First Step to Becoming Who You’re Meant to Be

Sacrifice is not about losing something; it’s about making room for something better. To sacrifice means to give up what feels familiar, comfortable, or safe so you can grow into what God is calling you to become. Sometimes the sacrifice is a habit, a mindset, a relationship, or even an old version of yourself. God often asks for sacrifice when staying the same is no longer helping you move forward. Sacrifice is the bridge between where you are and where God wants to take you.

A sacrifice usually comes when life feels uncomfortable or confusing. You may feel stuck, restless, or unsure of who you really are. That’s often when God steps in and asks you to release something so He can do something new. One feeling many people experience when they are called to sacrifice is fear—fear of change, fear of the unknown, or fear of losing control. But fear doesn’t mean stop. It often means growth is close. God asks for sacrifice because He sees the full picture and knows what you need to let go of so you can thrive.

The Bible reminds us in Romans 12:1, “Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, this is your true and proper worship.” Sacrifice is an act of trust. It’s saying, “God, I believe Your plan is better than my comfort.” When you make the sacrifice God is asking you to make, clarity starts to replace confusion. Confidence begins to grow. You start to feel more connected to who you truly are and the life you’re meant to live.

Avoiding sacrifice often keeps people feeling lost, unsure, and disconnected from themselves. Life starts to feel like it’s just happening to them instead of being created with intention. But when sacrifice is embraced, transformation begins on the inside first. Your thinking changes. Your confidence grows. You stop reacting to life and start intentionally co-creating it with God. Sacrifice opens the door to real change because it requires both faith and action.

This is where working with me inside the Confidence Mindset Program becomes the next step forward. Many people spend more money on vacations, entertainment, shopping, or quick escapes that feel good for a moment but leave their lives unchanged. Real transformation doesn’t happen on the outside first; it starts within. Working with me gives you the support, structure, and guidance you need to move toward lasting change. I help people feel sure of themselves and live on purpose by teaching them how to change the way they think and partner with God to build the life they truly want. Schedule your consultation call today and take the step that leads to real growth, real confidence, and a life created on purpose.

4 Powerful Life Lessons from 2024

2024 was a year that taught me so much about life. I learned how important it is to take care of myself, stop comparing my life to others, and step out of my comfort zone. These lessons helped me grow, find peace, and move forward in a better way. Keep reading to see how they might help you too!

My Traveling Friends…

Moving into 2025, I’m sharing this reflection a little later than most. Why? Because sometimes, you need to pause, sit with your experiences, and let them guide you before you move forward. Taking time to self-reflect helped me uncover 4 powerful lessons from 2024 that changed how I approach life. These lessons reminded me that growth doesn’t happen when we rush—it happens when we take the time to truly look back, learn, and step forward with intention.

Here’s what 2024 taught me:

1. You can’t pour from an empty cup: Self-care isn’t just a nice idea; it’s non-negotiable. Taking time to recharge doesn’t make you selfish—it makes you stronger for yourself and everyone who depends on you.

2. Saying “no” is an act of self-love: Protecting your peace and energy isn’t mean; it’s necessary. Boundaries are healthy and essential.

3. Comparison is a trap: Your journey is unique. Wasting time looking at someone else’s path only distracts you from walking your own.

4. Growth happens outside your comfort zone: The scariest steps often lead to the most rewarding changes. Even small risks can open the door to big possibilities.

As I reflected on these lessons, one truth stood out: When you stop looking down in doubt and start looking up with hope, you can move forward and create the life you’ve always dreamed of. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about being purposeful. Every decision, no matter how small, is a step toward the life you want to build.

So, as we move through 2025, I invite you to do the same. Take a moment to review your own lessons from last year. What did you learn about yourself? How can you use those insights to create a life you love—on purpose? Remember, every step forward matters.

Let’s grow together this year! If this post inspired you, subscribe to my website for more reflections and tips on creating your dream life.
